By using Check Engine ("the app"), operated by Gav's Customs, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Check Engine gives you informational guidance about vehicle symptoms. It is NOT a substitute for inspection by a qualified mechanic, and it does not certify that a vehicle is safe to drive.
Always use your own judgment. If a vehicle feels unsafe, if you smell fuel or smoke, if brakes or steering are affected, or if a warning light is flashing, stop driving and have the vehicle inspected in person.
You are responsible for any repair you attempt. Vehicle repair carries real risk of injury and of damage to the vehicle.
Diagnoses are generated by an AI system and may be incomplete or wrong. Repair-cost figures are rough estimates and vary widely by region, vehicle, and shop. Recall information comes from public NHTSA data and may lag official notices.
Check Engine Pro is $9.99 per month. Check Engine Shop is $29.99 per month. Both renew automatically each month until cancelled.
On iOS, payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings.
The free tier includes 3 diagnoses per day.
Do not use the app to break the law, to defeat emissions or safety equipment, or to resell or redistribute its output as your own diagnostic service.
The app is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Gav's Customs is not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from use of the app or reliance on its output.
We may update the app or these terms. We may suspend access that is abusive or unlawful.
